The China-United States Exchange Foundation (CUSEF) hosted a delegation of 16 students from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) for a seven-day visit to China, which began on March 16, 2025. The trip included stops in Beijing and Changchun, designed to enhance understanding of China’s economic policies, environmental strategies, and cultural heritage.
In Beijing, the delegation met with key officials, including Lu Kang, Vice Minister at the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, to deepen their insights into China's foreign policy. Their itinerary included visits to the Ministry of Commerce and Tianpu New Energy’s Tianning Zero Carbon Park, where they learned about technological innovations and environmental initiatives that highlight China's commitment to sustainability and green development.
The group then travelled to Changchun in Jilin Province, where they explored revitalization efforts and industrial transformations in Northeast China. At Jilin University, students engaged with faculty and peers to discuss economic reforms and academic collaboration. They also toured the Jilin University Museum of Archaeology & Art, which features relics from China’s ancient Silk Road history, bringing Northeast China’s rich cultural legacy to life.
The program included significant industrial visits, notably to CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles, a leader in high-speed rail technology, and the FAW Hongqi Cultural Exhibition Hall, which showcases advancements in automotive and new-energy technologies.
