CUSEF's Annual Beijing Reception 2025

Leading scholars from China met in Beijing to attend CUSEF’s annual reception on January 8. The annual meeting provides an opportunity for leading experts in China to share their insights on China-U.S. relations in the new year.

CUSEF President James Chau, who is currently in Washington attending the State Funeral for former U.S. President Jimmy Carter, joined the meeting virtually via Zoom and warmly welcomed all the guests. The meeting was hosted by CUSEF Vice President, Huang Dzhong.

Distinguished speakers include Wang Jisi, Professor at Peking University’s School of International Studies and CUSEF’s senior fellow ; Cui Tiankai, former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Chinese Ambassador to the United States; Le Yucheng, former Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Director of the National Radio and Television Administration; Chen Xiaogong, former Deputy Director of the Office of Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee; Tao Wenzhao, former Deputy Director of the Institute of American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Zhang Tuosheng, Director of the Academic Committee of the China Foundation for International and Strategic Studies; Ni Feng, Director of the Institute of American Studies at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; Wang Yizhou, Professor at Peking University and President of the Regional and National Research Institute at Nanjing University; Liu Qing, Vice President of the China Institute of International Studies; Shao Yuqun, Director of the Institute for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau Studies at the Shanghai Institutes for International Studies; An Gang, adjunct fellow at the Center for International Security and Strategy at Tsinghua University; He Weiwen, former Commercial Counsellor at the Chinese embassies in New York and San Francisco and senior fellow at the Center for China and Globalization; and Zhu Yinghuang, CUSEF’s special advisor.
