Mr. Tse is the Independent Non-Executive Chairman and an Independent Non-Executive Director of AIA Group Limited. During his 60 years with the Group and its predecessor American International Group, Inc. ("AIG”), Mr. Tse's major appointments include serving as: a Director of AIG from 1996 until June 2009, Senior Vice Chairman-Life Insurance of AIG from 2001 until June 2009, Honorary Chairman of AIA Company Limited from July 2009 to December 2010, its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 2000 to June 2009 and President and Chief Executive Officer from 1983 to 2000. Mr. Tse is a Non-Executive Director of PCCW Limited. Mr. Tse is also the Non-Executive Chairman of PineBridge Investments Asia Limited and a Director of Bridge Holdings Company Limited.

Mr. Tse was awarded the Gold Bauhinia Star (GBS) by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) in 2001 in recognition of his outstanding efforts in respect of the development of Hong Kong's insurance industry. Mr. Tse graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from The University of Hong Kong (“HKU”) in 1960. HKU conferred an Honorary Fellowship and an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Social Sciences on Mr. Tse in 1998 and 2002, respectively. In 2018, Mr. Tse was conferred an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Business Administration by Lingnan University. He also obtained diplomas from the College of Insurance and the Graduate School of Business of Stanford University. He has extensive management experience in the insurance market, both in Asia and globally. In 2003, Mr. Tse was elected to the prestigious Insurance Hall of Fame and in 2017 Mr. Tse was awarded the first ever “Lifetime Achievement Award" at the Pacific Insurance Conference in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the insurance industry. In 2019, Mr. Tse was also conferred Fellowship by the Hong Kong Academy of Finance.
